The Space

Project Calais is a sophisticated five x three, with echoes of a Scandinavian barn house and strong, elemental features which draw the eye up to its lofty dimensions. Angular with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows and spectacular interiors making full use of those towering ceiling heights, this is a home which is as much as a statement as it is a finely designed family residence.

• Muscular structure, reflecting elements of Scandi design motifs
• Eminently liveable, with spacious communal rooms, luxurious bedrooms and an easy-to-care for garden and pool area

The Challengers

The lot for Project Calais was potentially a challenging one; it was a narrow space with a 3m fall from front to back. However, by using intelligent design features – like high ceilings and soaring structural elements – Sarandis was able to make the space feel grand and imposing. To make the most of the living space and showcase the alfresco deck and pool, the entertaining zone was placed on the lower level, essentially creating a feeling of bringing the outdoors inside this spacious room.
